Good success is promised every Christian youth in the Bible. The promise shows the love of God for His little children. Are you one of them? You can be born again today to become a son of God (John 1:12). The right to excel as a child in God's kingdom is for you if you come to Christ. Take this simple step of faith and surrender your life to Christ. The Christian youth should not be ignorant of the barriers that hinder success. These barriers must be overcome so as to freely pursue success goals effectively. The first barrier is oversleeping. It is necessary to sleep and rest but it is wasteful to sleep too much. The Bible cautions, “Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty…” (Proverbs 21:13). It is expedient for you to watch your hours of sleep everyday in order to regulate your sleeping habit. Too much sleep is an enemy of success.
The second barrier that is obvious in our text is idleness. An idle student is an aimless student. A lazy student! He has nothing profitable to do than to roam about. If you will plan your work, you will discover that there is much to do within the limited time at your disposal. There is no time left for idleness. The third barrier is greed which implies excessive desire for food. The student that eats too much will be too heavy to study. Greed provides fuel to keep sleep on motion. Greed is an enemy of successful achievement.
Life of ease and pleasure is another barrier of success you need to overcome. Students that love pleasure will not read. They cannot pay the price of rigorous study that will earn them excellence. You can overcome this barrier by living success-oriented life of desire, decision, determination, dedication and discipline. Constantly engage yourself in profitable activities that will promote good achievement in your study. Start today and God will help you.
Challenge: Move this mountain of barrier.
Prayer: Give me freedom from every entanglement that hinders success in Jesus' name.
