It is you and not the circumstances around that determine what you make out of life. How many youths blame their inability and failures on circumstances surrounding them? If allowed, circumstances of life can clip your wings and hinder you from soaring to great heights. It may as well disable and immobilize you from performing at your best. Do you know circumstances are never permanent? They are temporary arrangement to shape up our lives and bring out the best in us. They are not to hinder progress rather they assist us to identify, discover, develop, define and put to use our God-given potentials.

The fact remains that circumstances may not be your own making yet you bear responsibility for your disposition or response to them. That you were not born with silver spoon or that there was no money to sponsor your education are stepping-stones to success rather than obstacles. Or that you are an orphan; your parents lost their jobs or you failed certain subjects repeatedly should not affect your goals and unless you have a discontent for all circumstances that will limit or hinder your progress and success, you may die with your hopes and aspirations. Someone said, “you will never change anything that you are willing to tolerate'”

Challenge: It is you who determine your success or failure in life and not your circumstances.

Prayer: O Lord, give me a conquering spirit to overcome obstacles to my progress.
