Time is so precious and priceless, and life too. Time is life and life marks the time. Time wasted is life wasted and time well-spent is life well-lived. A wasted time is irredeemable, so also is a wasted life. Time and life are precious gifts from God that must be judiciously used to a maximum profit. We need God's wisdom to number our days, hence the prayer; “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”.
The Bible says there is a time for every thing under the earth. There is the childhood period of nursery and primary school before the youthful time of secondary education. There is also a normal expected time for higher education. There is wisdom in being diligent to do things at the right times to avoid being a “late developer”. Consider the simple calculation below and apply your heart unto wisdom.
The average lifespan promised man in the Bible is 70 years, though he could excel this by God's grace. There are 25,568 days in 70 years for man to live. When he is twenty years of age, he has 18,263 days left to pursue his life goals. Youngsters are normally expected to have laid a solid foundation for their future in the secondary school before this age. At 25 when he is to conscientiously pursue his career goals, his days remain 16,440. a thirty year old individual has 14,611 days more to spend and must have developed fully in his career pursuits. The peak of career success is normally expected at 40 when he has 10,960 days remaining to reap the fruits of his labour. Man has no time to waste if he does not want to waste his life. Always bear in mind that time can only be profitably spent or permanently wasted. You are doing either at a given time.
Challenge: Time wasted is life wasted.
Prayer: Help me heavenly Father, to profitably spend my time every day.
