One of the natural gifts God endowed man is time. It is indeed a precious gift. Every living creature has a proportionate share of this gift. For man in particular, there is a time to be born, a time of childhood, adulthood, old age and a time to die (Ecclesiastes 3:1; 1 Corinthians 13:11; 1 John 2:13-14). Time waits for nobody. Time truly flies. The Psalmist prayed unto God. “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). It is important you note that there is wisdom in redeeming the time by making the best use of every second and minute of the day. The time wasted in ease, riotous living, pleasure-seeking activities, peer-group social gatherings and every form of youthful exuberance cannot be redeemed again. Such time is gone forever. You are only left with the present available time, which will soon fly away too. Therefore, mind your time before it flies.
The teenage years are foundational periods of human and/or career development. Your subject combinations will suggest your career areas and are highly determined by your academic performance. No right thinking youth should toy with this period of life development. The students you make friends with, your response to academic activities, your social and spiritual dispositions and your dreams and ambitions may eventually become the pillars your life foundation is erected upon and on which your future will be built. You cannot afford to be careless with this time of your life. You will need to make good and right decisions before time flies. The greatest good you can do to your time is to redeem it, buy it back and use it profitably (Ecclesiastes 5:16). Make sure you invest your time to pursue your life ambitions. Mind your time; do not allow it to slip away without utilizing it appropriately.
Challenge: Time is priceless.
Prayer: Help me Oh God to make the best use of my time.
