The story of Dinah as reported by the Bible is pathetic and not palatable. At a careless stroll to the strange land of the ungodly, she lost her “golden virtue” of a God-given chastity and replaced its glory with shame and disgrace. What a careless game she played. She wanted to see the daughters of the land and ended up defiled by the promiscuous prince of the land. Dinah left her people, abandoned domestic works and her “school” assignments for a careless visit to people who are strangers to what is good and is to be cherished. It is a perilous practice for any child of God to keep a relationship with any child of the devil. The contrast is too unimaginable. Dinah's costly mistake led her to immorality, an experience that was very strange to her godly heritage. There are youths today who ignorantly follow the footsteps of Dinah. They are always interested in going out for sight-seeing and window-shopping. They have books to read, school assignments to do, science projects to complete and domestic works to do, but prefer to roam about aimlessly from house to house. My young friend, learn a lesson from Dinah's mistake today. If your time is occupied with doing what is right, you will have no time left to do what is wrong. There are a lot of profitable activities, which should engage your time everyday to which you must give you full attention. If you have a good time-table it will give you appropriate direction to follow in the use of your time. You will not have time for aimless visitations, purposeless outings, unnecessary journeys, useless social gatherings and unguided association with those who do not have focus or visions for academic attainment.
Challenge: Costly mistakes could result into irreversible consequences.
Prayer: Help me o God to be a person of focus
